Griffin reports on the latest filmmaking inventions from Kickstarter, The Indie Machines' DIY missiles, Bammo's green screen tips, fempto-photography (1 trillion frames per second), behind-the-scenes of Griffin's 48-hour film, and the latest medal winners in the Indy Mogul Games!

(Today's episode is H.264 encoded at 5Mbps, rather than 2Mbps. Notice the difference? Higher quality—but maybe more buffering?)

HOW TO ENTER & RULES

All entries should follow the rules below, fit within the time limit, and be uploaded to YouTube. Then, e-mail the link to mogulermade@gmail.com (with "Indy Mogul Games" in the subject line) by noon EDT (New York time) on the due date. Please use original content, and don't include copyrighted material.

30-SECOND DIY PROJECT (due Wednesday, August 8 at noon EDT)
Have a cool DIY effect or filmmaking equipment build? Show it off, what it can do, and basically how you created it in only 30 seconds!

20-SECOND FOLEY EFFECT (due Monday, August 13 at noon EDT)
Foley is the art of creating and recording sound effects for films. Often strange things are used for common sounds (like raw meat for punches, or a tree branch snapping for a bone break). If you can make a unique, cool sound effect like that, show us a shot with the sound effect in action, then show us a shot of how you made the sound! You have 20 seconds to show us both.

10-SECOND STOP MOTION (due Monday, August 13 at noon EDT)
Stop motion is piecing a bunch of photos together to animate inanimate objects (think: claymation). 10 seconds is a great amount of time to create a cool stop-motion effect, because you won't need millions of frames.

20-SECOND CINEMATOGRAPHY (due Monday, August 13 at noon EDT)
You don't need to tell a full story (unless you want to), but create a visual sequence that makes sense (not a reel with unconnected images), that shows off some wonderful cinematography. You have 20 seconds.
