In 1997, B36 from Tórshavn became Faroese League champions for the first time in 35 years. Under management of Serbian coach Tomislav Sivic the team won 16 of 18 league matches that year. The decisive 2-1victory came in Vágur, on the Southern island of Suðuroy, against VB.
B36 goals were scored by Jens Kristian Hansen and Julian Johnsson. Other notable players of the team were Óli Johannesen and John Petersen, all key members of the Faroese National Team at that time.
The song about B36 is made and sung by the famous Faroese musician Terji Rasmussen.
