WASHINGTON, DC -- Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) spoke on the Senate Floor today, urging his colleagues to vote to repeal the President's health care law. The Senate is expected to vote on a repeal later in the day.
Wicker voted against the health care bill last year and has worked to repeal it since it was enacted. Excerpts from Senator Wicker's remarks follow:
"What we have this afternoon is an opportunity to show the American people that we are listening to them. The American people want the Obamacare law to be repealed and replaced with something less expensive and something workable. Polls show this. The individuals we talk to when we go home tell us this. And, this vote is an opportunity to show them that we are listening."
