Once a year, for the past 10 years, Zoe Strauss turned the space under 95 South into an art gallery. Hear Strauss share inspiring stories of how personal history and community history shape her art.
Zoe Strauss began making photographs at age 30 when she received her first camera. She created the Philadelphia Public Art Project to give Philadelphians access to art in their everyday lives. Her book America was published in 2008; her work has been shown at the Whitney and will be the focus of a forthcoming exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPhilly, where x = independently organized TED event.
At our TEDxPhilly event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
