"Today's bug -- boss drops

Today, there was an unfortunate bug with some of the 'unique boss monster drops'. This caused some players to experience very generous drops for a very short period of time.

The bug was fixed as soon as we were made aware of the issue and was limited to a very small number of players. It only affected those using lootshare or coinshare in specific environments against specific bosses and only for a very limited period of time.

We have considered a rollback and manual wealth reduction but will not be performing either due to the tiny number of items and players affected by this update.

We will not be issuing any bans connected to this bug. This is due to the nature of the bug and the fact that we introduced an update this week that was supposed to affect these rare drops -- players 'expected' it to be more generous and cannot be blamed for the actions taken around this time.

The effect on the market is limited, and, although this may have an effect on the Grand Exchange and player markets, it's likely to be short-term only. The increase in sigils on the GE right now, for example, is negligible (with no significant increase).

There are a handful of accounts that gained a large amount of wealth, but this is not enough to justify rolling back all player activity since the update. We agree, it's not fair that only a few had a chance to experience this 'generosity' but we feel it's more unfair to make everybody experience a rollback. Rollbacks would not only cause everyone's game experience since the update to vanish, but would also cause 2 hours of offline time (as per the last RS rollback).
