When working on new glass sculptures, often I will work through ideas using small clay "maquettes". This helps me visualize the forms better than relying solely on 2-dimensional drawings.
These small clay "sketches" also help me communicate with my team of glassblowers what we will be trying to make. We can more easily plan the various steps involved in order to create the clay "sketch" in glass.
This short video clip is just a small glimpse into this design process.
