This is one of my test runs of the servos opening and closing the Control Center on the custom computer case I'm building. My customer desired for none of the switches and controls to be exposed, but to be closed and just smooth on the outside. Therefore I've put together two servos attached to a Maestro 24 from Pololu to control the opening and closing of the control center.
It will be opened by the fingerprint reader (not mounted in video) on the side of the Control Center. Once opened, then he will have access to the 8" touch screen, two 15watt speakers, card reader, overclocking panel, power switch, and various other switches (blue illuminated duckbill switches), for operating various parts of the computer. The Maestro will handle all the programming and operation of the switches, lights, and servos.
You can tell that this is a video while I'm still working on the smoothness of the operation. It hangs a bit while the console is folding back into the case. I'm planning on posting another video once it has been attached to the rest of the case and is fully operational. (No that is not the entire case. This Control Center will sit on top of the actual case!)
