The sequel (of sorts) to Target Earth, is still, up to today , one of my favourite all time games on any system. Cybernator in the US/Europe was released by Konami after they hacked the game up good, removing character portraits and even a suicide cut-scene (a first in video games, as far as I recall). It was later remade on PS2 but It was a bit of a let down in the music department. So, what have we here? A Gundam style storyline which is the perfect setting for a 2D mech platform-shooting game. Huge improvement over "Target Earth" and an amazing job by NCS/Masaya, considering it was 1992. Enjoy the video.
Note: Special thanks to AGTP (Aeon Genesis Translation Proclamation) for the English patch of the Japanese version, making this version, quite simply, the most perfect version of the game. That's why you will see animated character portraits on this one. Project page at http://agtp.romhack.net/project.php?i... .
Tip: Yes, I ran all of the first level just killing the boss. This is a secret that gives that nice Napalm Gun you see me using on level 2.
Tip Update: If you do the same thing on level 2 and only kill the level boss, the Napalm Gun will become upgradable!
