Moral of the story: Don't piss off a Latvian Hockey Fan
Kristine Sulzanoka
The referee actually got life long ban to judge games where team Latvia plays. He did sneak into one game, though, but he acted like a badly behaved puppy, which was pathetic. We want fair game - win or lose, we stick with our team, but we want a clean game!

latvians are very very tolerant supporters, but enough is enough!

As a Canadian I tip my hat to Latvia. They basically played against the NHL all-star team and played the game of their live-  coming pretty damn close to putting what could have been the biggest upset in Canadian sports history. Look forward to future matches between Canada and Latvia.

If someone able to explain to me what happened I will be much appreciate. All I saw that 3 LV players hit CND player hands by hockey sticks.

http://www.iihf.com/Hydra/Tournaments_06/output/WS/ihm046e26_74_1_0.pdf Latvia played almost whole 1st period shorthanded. Penalty minutes in 1st per: 16 for LAT, 4 for CAN and Canada scored their first 5 goals on powerplays. The 1st period ended with 2 minutes left on the clock because the fans were throwing coins and stuff on the ice.

Sashik Pro The refferee was very biased gave penalties to Latvian team and team Canada realised them. The refferee was after the game banned forever from performing at a game.
lol they loose to canada 8-0 and they act dissapointed what to they expect

+Ricokz +Mary C Legg shhhhh it's alright guys... chill! Let's just enjoy the beauty of the game.
+Mary C Legg I said my offensive remarks in response to yours. We were having a civilized discussion and all of sudden you become hostile, care to explain what'd I do wrong? I don't know how US or other countries develop sports, I just know that Dinamo Riga develops a good chunk of our players and builds up their chemistry, while the rest play in better clubs with better wages and get themselves better opportunities (Gudlevskis & Girgensons in N-America). And Dinamo Riga is not acknowledged as a "national" team. It's a national club, it has foreign and local players, the foreigners are limited by KHL rules and the decisions of the upper-ups in the club, who prefer to keep the base local. It's only logical we have some foreign players to get score for us (the players by themselves are not excellently good compared to Ruskies, plus our best players are playing elsewhere anyway) - why else would we want any non-Latvians in the club?
