‘On The Record’ is a series of rare interviews from the Universal Music vault, with iconic musicians, bands and artists.
English musician and composer Mike Oldfield’s music blends progressive rock with world, folk, classical, electronic, ambient, and new-age music.
He is best known for his 1973 album ‘Tubular Bells’ – which launched Virgin Records and became a hit in America after its opening was used as the theme for the film ‘The Exorcist’ – and for his 1983 hit single ‘Moonlight Shadow’. Oldfield has released more than 20 albums with the most recent being rock album ‘Man on the Rocks’ in 2014.
His new album ‘Return To Ommadawn’ sees him once again experimenting with the sounds of the 1970s, recording with analogue and digital instrumentation together in sweet harmony.
