INTROITUS

00:00 1.- Requiem aeternam
(coro)
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine
et lux perpetua luceat eis.
(soprano)
Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion (Salmo 63)
et tibi reddetur votum in Ierusalem.
(coro)
exaudi orationem meam,
ad te omnis caro veniet.

05:39 2.- Kyrie eleison
(coro)
Kyrie eleison.
Christie eleison.

SEQUENZ

08:27 3.- Dies irae
(coro)
Dies irae, dies illa
solvet saeclum in favilla,
teste David cum Sibylla.
Quantus tremor est futurus
quando iudex est venturus
cuncta stricte discussurus!

10:18 4.- Tuba mirum
(bajo)
Tuba mirum spargens sonum
per sepulcra regionum
coget omnes ante thronum.
(tenor)
Mors stupebit et natura
cum resurget creatura
judicanti responsura.
Liber scriptus proferetur
in quo totum continetur
unde mundus iudicetur.
(contralto)
Iudex ergo cum sedebit
quidquid latet apparebit,
nil inultum remanebit.
(soprano y cuarteto)
Quid sum miser tum dicturus?
Quem pratonum rogaturus,
cum vix iustus sit securus?

14:32 5.- Rex tremendae
(coro)
Rex tremendae majestatis
qui salvandos salvas gratis,
salva me fons pietatis!

16:58 6.- Recordare
(cuarteto)
Recordare, Iesu pie
quod sum causa tuae viae,
ne me perdas illa die.
Quarens me, sedisti lassus,
redemisti crucem passus;
tantus labor non sit cassus.
Iuste iudex ultionis,
donum fac remissionis
ante diem rationis.
Ingemisco, tanquam reus,
culpa rubet vultus meus;
supplicanti parce, Deus.
Qui Mariam absolvisti
et Latronem exaudisti
mihi quoque spem dedisti.
Preces meae non sunt dignae,
sed tu bonus fac benigne
ne perenni cremer igne.
Inter oves locum praesta
et ab haedis me secuestra
statuens in parte dextra.

22:16 7.- Confutatis
(coro)
Confutatis maledictis,
flammis acribus addictis,
voca me cum benedictis.
Oro supplex et acclinis,
cor contritum quasi cinis,
gere curam mei finis.

24:36 8.- Lacrimosa
(coro)
Lacrimosa dies illa
qua resurget et favilla
iudicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus.
Pe Iesu, Domine,
dona eis requiem. Amen.

OFFERTORIUM

27:59 9.- Domine Iesu
(coro)
Domine Iesu Christe, Rex gloriae,
libera animas omnium fidelium defunctorum
de poenis inferni et de profundo lacu.
Libera eas de ore leonis,
ne absorbeat eas tartarus,
ne cadant in obscurum,
(cuarteto)
sed signifer sanctus Michael
repraesentet eas in lucem sanctam,
(coro)
quam olim Abrahae promisisti
et semini eius.

31:47 10.- Hostias et preces
(coro)
Hostias et preces tibi, Domine,
laudis offerimus.
Tu suscipe pro animabus illis,
quarum hodie memoriam facimus.
Fac eas, Domine,
de morte transire ad vitam,
quam olim Abrahae promisisti
et semini eius.

36:16 11.- Sanctus
(coro)
Sanctus, sanctus,
sanctus Dominus Deus sabaoth.
Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua.
Hosanna in excelsis.

38:01 12.- Benedictus
(cuarteto)
Benedictus qui venit
in nomine Domini.
(coro)
Hosanna in excelsis.

43:16 13.- Agnus Dei
(coro)
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi,
miserere nobis.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi,
dona nobis pacem.
Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi,
dona eis requiem sempiternam.

COMMUNIO

46:51 14.- Lux aeternam
(soprano y coro)
Lux aeternam luceat eis, Domine,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum, quia pius es.
Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine,
et lux perpetua luceat eis,
cum sanctis tuis in aeternum, quia pius es.

The Requièm Mass in D minor (K. 626) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was composed in Vienna in 1791 and left unfinished at the composer's death on December 5. A completion by Franz Xaver Süssmayr was delivered to Count Franz von Walsegg, who had anonymously commissioned the piece for a requiem Mass to commemorate the February 14 anniversary of his wife's death.

The Requiem is scored for 2 basset horns in F, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets in D, 3 trombones (alto, tenor & bass), timpani (2 drums), violins, viola and basso continuo (cello, double bass, and organ). The vocal forces include soprano, contralto, tenor, and bass soloists and a SATB mixed choir.

Structure

The Sussmayr completion of the Requiem is divided into fourteen movements, with the following structure:

I. Introitus: Requiem aeternam (choir and soprano solo)

II. Kyrie eleison (choir)

III. Sequentia (text based on sections of the Dies Irae): Dies irae (choir) Tuba mirum (soprano, contralto, tenor and bass solo) Rex tremendae majestatis (choir) Recordare, Jesu pie (soprano, contralto, tenor and bass solo) Confutatis maledictis (choir) Lacrimosa dies illa (choir)

IV. Offertorium: Domine Jesu Christe (choir with solo quartet) Versus: Hostias et preces (choir)

V. Sanctus: Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth (choir) Benedictus (solo quartet, then choir)

VI. Agnus Dei (choir)

VII. Communio: Lux aeterna (soprano solo and choir)
