It’s the late ‘60s - Kampong Chempedak was once a thriving and busy village but is now quiet. The younger or better off families have moved to the new HDB estates and all that remain are a handful of senior citizens. The day comes when they are all asked move out to live in flats. Many want to leave the kampong, but one or two find it hard to leave their old life.This play is performed in Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, Khek, Mandarin, English, Malay and Tamil by The Glowers Drama Group. Actors are aged between 64 and 82 years old. Kampong Chempedak was first seen at the Silver Arts Festival 2016 and will be soon be performed at the World Gold Theater Festival in Saitama, Japan.
