Democracy Now! hosts a debate on whether the queer rights movement should be focused on repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. The guests are Lt. Dan Choi and queer antiwar activist and writer Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore. Lt. Choi, who is openly gay, has become a vocal critic of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" after he was recently discharged from the New York Army National Guard. He filed papers earlier this week to re-enlist in the military. Sycamore feels that working to repeal the policy makes progressive movements in the U.S. complicit with American wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
