I recently received a question regarding how to get an iPhone in Korea. Here's the answer:

Thanks for the question. While both KT (olleh) and SK offer the iPhone, I'm only familiar with the former. I've also found their expat help quite extensive. Heck they have a blog and twitter account specifically set up to help expats get services in Korea.

What's needed to get an iPhone in Korea... not much. All you need to do is have your Alien Registration Card (ARC), bank book (account information), and more than three months left on your visa. The last requirement is because your have to sign a two-year agreement. Plans/phones must be purchased from one of the Global Center Stores.

If you don't want to go through all that... simply have a Korean friend put the phone in their name.

For more information, you can call 02) 2190-1180 or 1583 from any KT phone.

Hope that helps.
