Fallen Angels Dance Theatre (FADT) are based in North West England and led by Artistic Director, Paul Bayes-Kitcher. Paul, previously a soloist for Birmingham Royal Ballet formed the company to develop his work with vulnerable young people and adults that have experienced addiction and alcoholism in their lives. The company premiered their latest work Chapter One: Battle for the Soul at The Lowry in October 2011, and have been working closely with The Lowry's Community & Education Team ever since.

Over the past 6 weeks the company was commissioned by The Lowry to facilitate a Youth project that would aim to connect with young people who have little or no experience of Dance Theatre, including hard to reach young people and young offenders, to give them opportunities to engage in reflective practice by participating in a dance theatre activity.

Over the 6 weeks, the participants have used Dance as a medium to explore their own life experiences, improve confidence levels/assertiveness and self esteem and also gain a greater understanding of social issues surrounding substance misuse, crime and behavioral issues. Today was the final performance by the young people from Irlam & Eccles. These young people had not worked together previously but had devised & choreographed themselves, even finding time to write a rap!

The performance was themed around issues relating to alcohol & substance misuse and supported by local Youth Services, Fallen Angels Dance Theatre & Lowry staff.
