Andrew Lenchewski, creator and co-executive producer of USA Network's popular TV show Royal Pains, and his father, Dr. Enrique Lenchewski, an oral surgeon in Manhattan, were at NHF's Annual Meeting in New Orleans to receive certificates of appreciation for raising awareness of hemophilia and other bleeding disorders through the character Tucker Bryant, a teenager on Long Island who has hemophilia. Dr. Lenchewski came up with the idea of including a character with hemophilia, harkening back to his days as an intern at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC decades ago, when he saw patients with the bleeding disorder.
