God damn.....so many Poketards defending this pathetic nutjob. There is nothing in life that validates that reaction, let alone anything so much as resembling Pokemon. There clearly is a need to classify Pokemon merchandise as a control substance as it is more brain-damaging than fucking meth

+Jrezky On those points I must say I agree with you.  Maybe I can't help myself sometimes because I was a teaching assistant in my undergrad days, as well as a tutor. Sometimes when I cast the line and get a bite I can teach someone a new idea.  Mostly, I get no bites though.

+Rob Laquiere Haha, it's all good. My trick is to not take people seriously or just assume they're joking, especially when I read something particularly egregious. Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. What also might help is tying not to educate stupid people on youtube. I've found it quite the uphill battle and while it can sometimes be noble, it's mostly impossible and I've found it easier to throw a bit of ridicule their way instead and hope for the best.

Okay this is definitely an overreaction, but after trying to catch a rare pokemon and succeeding, it gets pretty emotional. The game tries to fuck with you, but you finally catch it and it's like, fuck you game. Fuck your shit, I caught it, bitch.

+Dusty McTits Just say "Fuck you, game, I'm done with your ship" and chuck your gameboy or gamecube or whatever out the window and stick it and all your games on the railroad tracks. And then never buy another game again.

+Cher Noble It's not reprogramming at all, it's understanding the system of the game.  Most games (pokemon included), form a Seed number, from which ALL random phenomenon in the game are generated.  The Seed number itself is determined in different ways from game to game, but by knowing HOW the game comes up with the Seed number, you can manipulate it.  In Pokemon (or at least the Generation V games), the seed is determined by the exact time and date you load the game, down to the second.  So, if you have access to the complex algorithms that determine what pokemon you get with each seed, then you can easily just reset your DS' internal clock and time it so that you load the game at the exact second you need to.  The hard part is the literal weeks worth of math required to determine what seed would yield what pokemon, and when.  It's beyond college calculus level math... but it has nothing to do with altering the game code, whatsoever.
Cher Noble
thanks roseki, no grudge Adrian. i'm honest in saying I don't know the correct terminology. could you educate us on how to change to codes in the game? I only took one year of ROP Game Programming C++ at high school, so I only know the basics of what it takes to design a game. every game is a giant series of "if, then" statements, and glitches are loops and typos in your code.
