Imagine being asked by one of your favorite bands to become their lead singer and having the balls to turn it down and start your own band? Chris Daughtry did just that. Very much focused from the start of his musical career, Chris declined an offer from Fuel to become their front man, instead to start his own band, "Daughtry". Not taking the easy road, risking it all pretty much, after rising to fame through the American Idol tv series, Chris Daughtry decided to form a band and write and record a debut album himself. Daughtry's debut album became the fastest selling debut rock album in Soundscan history, selling more than one million copies after just five weeks. The band recorded two more albums after that, selling very very well.
We teamed up with Chris Daughtry in Amsterdam where Daughtry (the band), touring their album "Break the Spell", played a gig with buddies Nickelback. We talked to Chris about touring, writing songs, working with the likes of Chad Kruger and Slash, working under pressure, the wiki myth on Chris Daughtry's debut album with his high school band, and Chris talks openly about the often personal lyrics on their amazing album "Break The Spell" like "crawling back to you", "gone to soon" "who's they" and of course about his great hit "Home".
