Rep. Reed highlights the House-passed legislation to avoid the July 1st student loan interest rate spike and presses the Senate to pass legislation to protect students from a rate hike scheduled to take effect in less than two weeks. While the House passed the Smarter Solutions for Students Act in May to lower rates and avoid the July 1st interest rate spike, the Senate has failed to pass any legislation to avoid the hike. Reed asks that the Senate remove students from the political debate and act immediately to protect millions of students across the country.
