This piece represents a year of struggle for human rights in Tucson, AZ. It is my first attempt at a triple art form, the music, spoken word, and photos are all original by me. La Luche Sigue! Do not give up! For more photos see http://www.chrissummitt.com or http://www.facebook.com/summittphotog...

Words being spoken:
As I sit here and live through this
I cannot stand by and allow such injustice to take place
I must stand up, I must raise my fist in anger
My will to fight has been ingnighted,
My small flame will soon grow with yours and yours and yours
And the roaring fire we create together shall rise up in the sky
and give power to our people, power to defeat this evil

Together we are strong and we are just
Look around you and recognize your power
We do not have to put up with these racist laws
enacted by a xenophobic government
We have the power to defeat this bigotry
We have the strength to defend our culture
We must fight

We must fight with megaphones, music, and meetings
We must fight with signs and protests and singing
Keep marching my people, your feet are powerful weapons
Your legs are giant sequoias supporting the struggle
Your arms in the air demand justice and human rights
Your voice, strong like thunder, I can feel the rumble
We must fight
