In many organizations the prevailing organizational culture is dictatorial. In other words the 'sir' culture. In many places sir is the word used to address elderly people at work. It is just the respect given for the age. It does not mean that the person who is using the word sir is inferior to the other person. Setimes people use this word sarvastically as well. However a dictatorial culture is detrimental to self organizing teams. Changing the dictatorial culture is a top down effort and must start by the top embracing servant leadership.
