The dragonfly has incredible flying ability. It can fly forward, backward, and can even hover as it searches out and captures prey. Adding to the efficiency of this predator are its eyes, which have over 30,000 lens per eye that allow for precise targeting of its insect prey.
Dragonflies are one of 150 species explored in Finley-Holiday's "National Park Animals for Kids DVD." Filmed entirely in the national parks by renown nature videographer Russ Finley, the DVD explores 6 classes of animals: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, insects and spiders (aka bugs) in over 2 hours of video.
