Priya, a garments worker needs a promotion. Akash, an auto mechanic is looking for a better job. Like thousand other workers in Bangladesh, both are skilled workers without the formal certifications that could help them fulfill their professional aspirations. Thanks to the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, Bangladesh is helping thousands of informal and unemployed workers get their skills certified in order to find jobs, boost their career prospects, and seek salary increases. So far, 9,000 applicants from all over Bangladesh have benefited from the program and 30,000 others are expected to enroll over the next two years.

In order to recognize the skills of people like Rana, Priya and Akash, Bangladesh Technical Education Board is providing a fully government-sponsored ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’, in short RPL, certification.

Interested individuals have to apply to the nearest technical education institution.

After the application, training will be provided for the first two days.
On the third day, skills of the candidates will be evaluated through practical assessments.

Only by demonstrating skills, candidates can obtain this valuable certificate.

This certificate is free of cost. Food and accommodation for three days along with transportation expense will be provided.
