Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

Amateur Extension Theater 2000 celebrates its 399th extension by weaving music and memories to create what ought not to have been possible. Greetings, I'm Alkahest, your quirky neighborhood title-dropping host, and huge fan of Vyse from Skies of Arcadia. The reason why that has any relevance to this video will be touched upon very shortly.

Created by Square-Enix, Final Fantasy X-2 broke more conventions than can probably be named reasonably in this block of text. Up to that point, direct sequels to Final Fantasy games were unheard of; each game was a self-contained world unto itself, and we were always left wondering what happened after the credits finished rolling, and the last cutscene came to an end. It followed the exploits of former Summoner Yuna, two years after Sin's destruction and the beginning of an era many called the 'Eternal Calm'. All is far from peaceful, however, as Spira finds itself threatened by the ominous specter of an ancient war from long, long ago...

'Eternity ~Memory of Lightwaves~' is heard before the game even begins, when your system first powers up and reads the disc. It's played over the opening credits; a variation of it can be heard later on in the game if certain conditions are met, where it is known as 'Eternity: Band Version'. The version you hear now, however, has a set timeframe, and is meant to play from points A to B, without ever looping once. In other words, seemingly an impossible situation for extended music fans like ourselves.

But my philosophy is not at all dissimilar to that of Vyse the Blue Rogue's. This quote sums it up nicely:

"Every time I hear the word 'impossible'... it makes me want to prove everyone wrong. If we challenge ourselves, and never give up, our own horizons will broaden... in our hearts, and in our minds... I need to push myself every day. I have to know what I can accomplish... I never give up, and so far, nothing has ever stopped me."

And here we are. Considering what I had to work with, I believe this turned out really well; it's a shame I had to sacrifice a portion of the melody that leads to the outro and fade out, but on listening to this side by side with the Band Version of 'Eternity', the main melody remains fully intact. I hope you enjoy listening to it, as much I enjoyed making it. ... Actually, I hope you enjoy listening to it -vastly- more than I enjoyed making it, ya know? *grin*

Speaking of the impossible, and the skies of Arcadia, the 400th extension awaits. Oh, and I finished typing this up just as the extension ended; what perfect timing! Take care, viewers; hope to see you there real soon-like.
