Still criminal that people before and after her death still greatly overlook this groundbreaking technique by lovely L-I-Y-A-H a.k.a. Miss Phatalicious *Missy Ms. Demeanor voice*. I'm talkin' about Babygirl's slick way in gettin folks to bop they heads to a joint that was not only futuristically different from the typical smooth R&B or gritty rap joints that dominated pop radio (1996-2002), but chaotically mind-blowing that her light voice was both a crystal clear and unique match to the pimped out futuristic beat with the bonus of her playfully talking about sex in a not "too" blatant nor "try-hard secretive" manner (e.g. Missy being inspired to sample this formula for her old artist Tweet's subliminal self-lovin' freaky anthem "Oops" a year later). Now that I think about it, Missy herself recalled during one of Aaliyah's biopics how everytime Babygirl or her squad's joints would drop, listeners wouldn't know how to rock to it. It had them in an almost trance where it was sooo different and out there, yet it was just too addictive and hot to not JUST make you dance but to pause, embrace and react: "dayummm, this some next dimensional shit, I can knock to this". Similar how to folks paused and couldn't stop staring at Michael Jackson's out-of-the-box footwork at the 1983 Motown TV broadcast. Rightfully keeping R&B the most high in demanded theme in the pop music world. All of this at the very close & barely opening of the new millennium, all done by black pop stars known as SuperFriends Clique (Missy, Timbaland, Aaliyah, Magoo, Nicole Wray, Ginuwine, Tweet, Playa). Awesomeness, y'all.

Nothing on the radio at the time could match the vibe of this song. So smooth and sexy.

I remember when Aaliyah passed away and 106 and Park had this video at the number 1 spot for weeks! So tragic the situation, especially the interview with her stylist saying she told Aaliyah not to take that flight and wait until the next day. Just tragic. I was in 9th grade when this happened. RIP to all who lost their life.

I am SO VERY GRATEFUL that I got to see all of her music blossom in real time! I was a teenager at the time! I am now 35 & STILL listen to her music! The 90's era was just the best, and she is the queen,ALWAYS & FOREVER!She was ahead of her time!
