Excerpts from performances at Seattle's annual Moisture Festival. Tap Dancer and Musician M.C. Shoehorn plays jazz, blues, Americana, and World music styles and combines them in his solo act "Dances with Instruments". See the playlist for studio recordings of this unique series of one-man-band compositions. Things get a bit wilder on live "varieté" gigs, where due to time constraints Shoehorn concentrates on fewer instruments. In this clip he plays alto and soprano saxes, clarinet, found percussion, bongos, loop pedal, and tap dances. In other shows he often plays more instruments, including the Tappercussion™ e-tap™ instrument, which enables him to create a third layer of sound by triggering electric percussion with his feet. In addition to his original compositions, he plays many jazz/rock/pop songbook standards. Shoehorn is also a singer, recording artist, bandleader, and a sideman with various ensembles, playing winds and percussion, tap dancing and singing.
