We believe that everyone who knows a child, of any age, should be aware of the symptoms of Type 1 diabetes - the 4 Ts.

Remember them, and know what to do if they spot them.

Toilet - Going to the toilet a lot, bed wetting by a previously dry child or heavier nappies in babies.

Thirsty - Being really thirsty and not being able to quench the thirst.

Tired - Feeling more tired than usual.

Thinner - Losing weight or looking thinner than usual.

If you recognise any of these symptoms in a child, see your doctor and ask for a finger prick blood test.
