Around the time Louis Eugene Walcott was planning to change his name to Louis Farrakhan and his gig from regionally popular calypso singer to eventual Supreme Minister of the Nation of Islam, he was still known to nightclub and carnival fans far and wide as The Charmer. In this original composition, a thunderstruck Charmer tells the tale of a regular guy called George William Jorgensen Jr., ex-US soldier and trained dental assistant, who, as Miss Christine Jorgensen, was just emerging big time as the world's first sex reassignment surgery celebrity.
