Boiler tubes are clogged by the ash and dust that is created from burning coal in the firebox of the locomotive.
The tubes had been rodded (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0BVV5... for tube rodding). But some where blocked and we needed to "flush" the accumulated ash out. This called for some hoses and water being blasted down the tubes to clear the blockage. This worked!
24 Rolvenden has received it's last boiler washout before running out of boiler ticket. She therefore has 28 days in steam left.
