Got the rebuilt starter in today. Man it was tricky! The top and bottom plates come off so easily and the bolts go up through the bottom of the starter. Took me a half an hour, some choice words, and some masking tape to get in. Working on these outboard sure forces you to be resourceful!
But got it in and hooked her up to a jet ski battery. Not enough juice to turn her over fast enough. Pulled out a truck battery, cleaned the contacts, sprayed a little starting fluid, and she fired right up!
So the issue now is there isn't any water coming out of what i assume is the water outlet. Should water be coming out instantly or does the motor need to be running for a few seconds for water to pass through?
