Julián Castro, mayor of San Antonio, joined in on kicking off the drive to the inaugural San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup 2012, taking place Saturday, June 2 at the University of The Incarnate Word's Benson Stadium.

Mayor Castro, Richard Perez, president and CEO of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and Bob Raymond of IKON Office Solutions and chair of the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup, shared their perspectives on what the event means to the health and well-being of San Antonio and its business community.

The press conference featured a taste of the competition to come with a corn toss, a Frisbee toss and tug-of-war! Local business leaders joined in on the fun as they begin to prepare their teams for the opportunity to be the very fist winners of the San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup trophy.

San Antonio Sports is excited to present the inaugural San Antonio Sports Corporate Cup on Saturday, June 2, at the University of the Incarnate Word. It's a fun-filled adult field day designed to celebrate fitness and healthy competition within our city's business community.

Employers, large and small, have the opportunity to get their employees active in a day-long competition that encourages camaraderie, wellness, charitable giving and, of course, athletic skill.

The Corporate Cup offers thirteen events including skills contests like a soccer kick, football toss and basketball shoot out; and competitive events like track relays; tug-of-war; and a 5K run. There's even a 5K Wellness Walk for everyone.

Teams compete in one of four divisions based on number of employees and earn points for placing and participating. A Corporate Cup will be awarded in each division. There's even a Charity Challenge, which allows teams to amass points based on their donations to three local charities: the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope and the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center.

It's a triple win! Your company wins, your employees win and local charities win! Overall proceeds from the Corporate Cup benefit San Antonio Sports' nonprofit youth programs.
