Trio Sonata No. 1 in E flat major BWV 525, originally for organ, arranged for two pianos.
Recorded in 1933.
Ethel Bartlett (1896-1978) and Rae Robertson (1893-1956) were a very successful international piano duo. They were both students at the Royal Academy of Music and subsquently Academy Fellows. Ethel Bartlett, a student of Tobias Matthay and Schnabel, also partnered John Barbirolli in his early career. The duo enjoyed extensive international tours, in particular in the United States of America, recordings and commissions of new works for piano duo from Martinu and others.
