Ronald Malcolm Lambert (Canadian, b. 1927)
- AGO permanent collection since 1943 - Student of abstract master painter Hans Hofmann, 1947 - Only Canadian teenager to ever to study with Hans Hofmann who publicly noted his "great promise" (June 20, 1947) - First postwar abstract painter of his generation influenced by the NY school - Two-person show with Alexandra Luke (Painters Eleven) in January-February 1949 - Last survivor of the 26 artists from the Canadian Abstract Exhibition (Hart House, U of T, Toronto, November 1952) featuring Lawren Harris, Jack Bush, William Ronald, Oscar Cahen, Harold Town, Ray Mead, Alexandra Luke, Hortense Gordon, Tom Hodgson, Joseph Plaskett, Jack Shadbolt, Lionel Thomas, etc. - Too much more to mention!
