I have called the Mayor's Action Line in Indianapolis about this Franklin Township intersection at least 5 times over the last two years. they say this intersection is working properly. I spend 1/6th of my total commute time (13.5 miles) downtown at this intersection. Sometimes it backs up all the way to Thompson Park neighborhood. I posted this video because so many people are taking my alternate route that IT is now backed up. And while this backup happens, traffic through the intersection on Arlington flows freely in all directions. Arlington gets about 35 seconds of green. Thompson gets about 25 seconds of green. Most of the time it should be the reverse, but nothing has changed for years. This video begins at the intersection and travels EAST on Thompson Rd to show you just how far backed up the traffic gets...sometimes 3/10 of a mile to Thompson Park. It can take 4 cycles of lights to get through.
