A Youtube fowl enthusiast friend suggested, and I thought, "Why not?"...
What followed was a wild goose (nay, fowl!) chase for 2 days, in a forest far from home.
Let me tell you that what looks like your ordinary poultry is, in the wild,a very different bird -- hiding in deep scrub throughout the day -- RJF cocks crow before sunrise and after sunset... and boy! can they run (see in the movie).
And, if that's not enough, they can fly for 200 feet too! Very shy birds that I could only catch on long hand-held zooms.
The audio track is a blend of the wild Indian Red Jungle Fowl cocks' crowing (sometimes interspersed with their larger cousins, the Indian Peacocks).
But, giving the whole film its ambience & flavour is the amazing, gentle, finger-plucking guitar of the inimitable Claude Sirois of Quebec, Canada.
Whenever I see or hear Nature, I think of a man-made melody that compliments or enhances... This is it.
This music is from his CD Claude Sirois Guitariste Disques Mérite # 22-1095
Available on the web http://www.zik.ca/zik/recherche.jsp?s...
and the parts are available in his book Méthode d'apprentissage à la guitare Boule de neige productions.
