This workshop will describe a prototype and developing continuous quality improvement model that the Earth Sciences Department created and applied to three courses in Fall 2009 semester. We will review the many components of this model, including planning documents, logistics of multiple instructor interactions, course evaluations, and program-level content exams for students. We will describe how we applied our plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle for two lecture courses and one lab course in Fall 2009 semester and how we closed the loop and began applying the next cycle of the process for Spring 2010 semester.
