Chronic heart failure is where the heart can't meet the needs of the body and the body begins to fail because of this. Heart failure is a major problem as it affects around half a million Australians. About 350,000 have symptoms of the condition and around 150,000 have a weakened heart muscle but don't have any symptoms. This research is focused around trying to find better ways of diagnosing chronic heart failure early.
