His album Wonderland was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album in 2013. He has made a number of appearances in the media, notably in video games, television, and music videos. His fourth studio album, Kolony, was released on July 21, 2017. He built his own record label, which he named Dim Mak – a reference to his childhood hero, Bruce Lee. He's the founder of the Steve Aoki Charitable Fund, which raises money for global humanitarian relief organizations. In 2012, Pollstar designated Aoki as the highest grossing dance artist in North America from tours.
