How do we actually see things? The answer is that our brains learned to see, which makes us an essential part of the process of 'making sense' of the world. At 'Seeing Myself See', which took place at Wellcome Collection on 29 May 2010, the audience were be able to witness this process first hand and experience the visual world in a completely new way...in sound.
The event was created by Beau Lotto, a neuroscientist and founder of Lottolab (http://www.lottolab.org ). In this video he talks us through all the activities, the Seeing Instruments, Mind Chair and more, with a particular focus on the Bee Matrix. The latter was a novel educational experiment which saw primary school pupils collaborating to come up with a way of performing new scientific tests on bumblebees.
