Academy Research Fellow Anu Kankainen from the Department of Physics studies nuclear astrophysics. She says that masses and decay properties of neutron-rich radioactive nuclei have a strong impact on astrophysical events, such as neutron star mergers, which are currently a hot topic. This is why Kankainen and her team want to study these properties.

Akatemiatutkija Anu Kankainen Fysiikan laitokselta tutkii ydinastrofysiikkaa.
