K2 at K Station is a 496-unit 34-story apartment tower that's under construction in Chicago's Fulton River District.

When I visited earlier today approximately 150 workers from various trades were busy assembling plumbing fittings, installing electrical equipment and windows, assembling and disassembling forms, pouring and finishing concrete -- and engaged in a variety of other activities.

McHugh Construction Project Engineer Owen Smith showed me around the site, starting at ground level and ending on the 13th floor, which is partially complete. From the 9th floor on we climbed construction ladders.

We stopped a number of times on various floors while Owen answered my questions about what we were looking at.

Thanks, Owen, for an informative tour.

NOTE: Apologies for the shakiness of some of the video, but it was all shot hand-held due to site conditions.
