Post-Bulletin, Austin MN
An Austin woman suffered injuries Sunday afternoon when a dog bit her at the Mower County Humane Society.
Monica Grimm, 61, had a deep laceration to her lower lip as well as bite wounds to her left ear and the under side of her right arm, Police Chief Paul Philipp said.
Grimm, a humane society volunteer, was bitten while trying to help a black Labrador get a paw out that was caught in a fence gate, Philipp said. The incident was reported about 1:45 p.m. at the humane society's shelter on 10th Drive Southeast.
Grimm told police she would go to Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester for stitches, Philipp said.
The dog recently had rabies shots, he said, but was going to be quarantined at the shelter for 10 days for observation.
