So I started a new world with the Biome Terrain Mod, walked around for a few minutes, came to an unbelievably huge ocean, and saw a lone island in the center. That's where I decided I'd make my home. Mostly because I found a huge deposit of clay right on the side of it. :P
I usually plan out my minecraft stuff, but this time, I just decided to wing it. Turned out better than my planned houses, haha.
So yea, this was before the new minecraft update so the redbrick was obtained using the classic inventory glitch since Notch makes it practically impossible to find enough clay to use the redbrick sufficiently. The wool was all fairly obtained and took FOREVER to get. I beat up lots of sheep to get it all. The fireplace was planned out so that I wouldn't start anything on fire, but on the first attempt at this, I accidentally burned down the roof with faulty brick stacking. Oops. I also had to add quite a bit onto the island to make it big enough to accommodate my house. As for the attic, I originally was planning to use just wooden planks to decorate it, but when I saw what the attic looked like on the inside after I had completed the ceiling, I decided that the dark wood looked infinitely better.
The underwater tunnel was a BEAST. I'm making some underwater walkways, and it's also vexing. I basically build the tunnels, and then fill them up with wool to get rid of the water spawn blocks. Then I light the wool on fire and voila, it's clear.
So yea, this is my pride and joy for now. :D
