This video is concerning a very serious topic: Depression, anxiety, and Psychosis. I do have another video out there about the same topic and in that video I talk about depression, anxiety, and psychosis. I will talk about it again in this one. In the previous video I had a prepared script. I am now 69 years old. When I was sixteen, I was called into the principal's office and I was told I that unless I sought psychiatric help immediately, I would descend into schizophrenia, which is the worst of the psychotic illnesses. People who are schizophrenic routinely see things that are not there and hear voices . I was having those symptoms, but I did not tell anyone about them because I thought that if I did, I would be hospitalized. In the fifties and the sixties, mental hospitalization was not fun. They were largely understaffed. I had an uncle who was hospitalized at Farmington state mental hospital. He was my mother's sister's husband. So there was no genetic implications there. My mother would come home very shaken after visiting him. I was symptomatic at the time. I was definitely not going to tell anyone about my symptoms. I thought about suicide many times. I was nearly housebound. It took huge energy to get out of the house every day. I was determined to get a degree in piano performance, which I did. Hospitalization did not fit my life plan.
Three things kept me going: My music, my family, and my faith.
If you are going through this, don't give up. Please don't give up. You don't know what will happen in research that will bring about health. I am passionate about alternative, integrative medicine.
The approach that has worked for me has been whole food vitamin therapy. B vitamins increase serotonin in the brain. I also take thyroid medication including two doses of T3 daily. I also take iodine. I had an iodine loading test done that indicated very low levels of iodine.
Please consider orthomolecular psychiatry, nutrient therapy, and whole food vitamin therapy.
My story is contained in the book, Recovering from Depression, Anxiety and Psychosis, available on amazon and on kindle.
