How To Define Your Vision: Happiness Project Video #1

Defining your vision can be tricky task for many people and many view it as a fantastic waste of time.

But guess what? It's not...

When you define your vision, you are actually creating a strategy for achieving your life goals which will help you decide which decisions to make and actions to take.

You need a vision because it will create for you a map for your professional and personal dreams. If you don't define your vision, you ultimately let other people and circumstances define your personally and professional goals in life.

How do you know what you want to do? This question can sound ridiculously simple, but it is very important. Allowing yourself to explore your deepest desires can be frightening for some people but, once you actually do this searching and exploring you will soon realize that a happy life doesn't just happen by chance, it happens by design.

In this video, I share with you what I did to make me get clear on my vision...
And really, it is so simple and easy.

Here are some other tips to help you get clear on your vision:
- What brings you the most joy and happiness in your life?
- What did you dream about as a kid?
- What activities make you feel good about yourself?
- What are your values and what do you really care about?
- What type of legacy would you like to leave behind?
- What really matters in life?
- What do you want your relationships to be like?
- What qualities would you like to develop?

Now, describe your life in every detail and really allow yourself to imagine and dream. And remember, no dream is too big. The bigger the dream the better because it will push your further and allow you to exceed the limits you had previously placed on yourself.

Now plan backwards. Once you have defined your vision, think about which actions or achievements you would make at the end of your life. What type of people will you be surrounded by? Once you define this, you will know which actions you need to take on a daily basis to achieve your vision and live a life of your dreams.

For me, I want to live a happy life. It's seems so simple to say but it's true, I want to be happy. I want to live stress and worry free. I want to live where ever I want and when I want. I don't want an alarm clock to dictate when waking and sleeping hours. I don't want to pattern my life according to somebody else's goals, I want my life defined by my goals.

I realized this one day while sitting on my patio in Costa Rica. I realized that I was so happy, just sitting there, and enjoying life. It was at that moment that I realized that I always wanted to live life feeling like I was in that moment...

I am traveling the world in search for a place that makes me the most happy and where I feel the most free. Once I find that spot, I am going to put down some roots and create a life there. I will inspire people along the way and help them realize that they too can live a life where they are free to be happy doing whatever they want and desire to do.

So, that is a shortened version of my vision and I think it is a pretty damn good one at that. So what is your vision? What are your dreams?
