Shooting the bow - http://youtu.be/9zbG1CEhklQ

Hey everybody, I've been getting a lot of requests for a video showing how to make a basic flattened PVC pipe bow, so here it is.

I'm working on putting up a video of building a flattened PVC horsebow with wood siyahs, but until then here is a nice and easy youth recurve bow. This bow is similar in design to the Banded Krait in my book, the bow that pulls 70 pounds, but in a smaller diameter pipe.

This bow is a good lightweight target bow that's easy to shoot and is very compact. This one is not 70 pounds. In this video we will go over flattening the limbs, shaping the handle, recurving the tips, cutting nocks and finally stringing the bow and drawing it for the first time.

To make this bow, you will need a 4 foot long piece of 3/4 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe, a flattening jig, a heat source like a heat gun or stovetop and a pot or other cylinder with a diameter of 6-8 inches.

Keep checking back as I will upload a video on how to finish the bow as well as how to measure the draw weight. Thanks for watching!
