On Tuesday, July 31st the Department of Housing Preservation and Development held a pre-submission conference for the adAPT NYC Competition, a pilot program to develop a new housing model (micro-units) for the City's growing small-household population. The purpose of the conference was to provide an overview of and answer questions for prospective applicants about the initiative's Request for Proposals (RFP). The winner of the competition will design, construct, and manage a new construction development at 335 East 27th Street in the Kips Bay neighborhood of Manhattan. Hundreds of people attended the event at the American Institute of Architects' Center for Architecture, and many more watched the conference via live stream.
