Congressman Connie Mack (R-FL 14) appeared today on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." While there, Congressman Mack outlined his opposition to the debt ceiling deal, stating that the deal does not really solve the problem at hand; namely, the United States' new budget under the deal of $17 trillion, while it takes in roughly $2 trillion. Congressman Mack believes that real spending cuts based against a zero mark rather than cuts against baseline spending where the national debt will continue to grow are the only solution. Congressman Mack then spoke about his Penny Plan, a familiar name for his One Percent Spending Reduction Act of 2011 introduced earlier this year, as a means to achieve a real solution to the nation's debt woes and to stop with "gimmick" solutions.
