Dr. Samadi discusses in-office procedures for enlarged prostate, such as a microwave, in which a catheter burns the prostate in order to allow urination. Dr. Samadi believes it creates irritative symptoms, which are difficult to treat later on. Samadi talks about Transurethral Needle Ablation of the Prostate (TUNA), which uses needles to burn the prostate. Patients generally handle it well but if the prostate is enlarged, medications wont be successful. Samadi believes GreenLight Laser Therapy is the best in-office treatment because it is less invasive and does not require resection of the prostate. He also talked about Transurethral Resection Of The Prostate (TURP), which opens up the cavity for better urination.
