Due to technical difficulties this video starts about 10 minutes into the presentation.

About the presentation:

Garret D'Amore is the founder and technical lead of the Illumos Project, a fully open community project to develop a reliable and scalable operating system that began as a fork of the OpenSolaris operating system, returns to UUASC to give an update to his January 2011 presentation.

Since that time various distributions are now based on Illumos, including an OmniOS image available on Amazon Web Services.
